Amanda Bynes' Dad: "My Daughter Doesn't Drink"
After her arrest on Friday, Amanda Bynes' father, Rick Bynes, is coming to his daughter's defense.
“She was not drunk,” papa Bynes said in an interview with People. “I was told that she blew a zero on the Breathalyzer. She didn’t have a single drink that night. My daughter doesn’t drink.”
The 26-year-old actress was leaving Los Angeles’ Greystone Manor Supperclub on Thursday night when she apparently collided with a marked police car at 3 a.m. before being arrested for DUI.
Rick told the source that he believed the cop was at fault for “pulling out in front of [Amanda],” adding that the only thing she was guilty of was being “upset and very emotional.”
"She is a good girl," says Rick. "She just chooses not to work, and because of that, people go after her."
The former Nickelodeon star was held overnight at the West Hollywood Sheriff’s department’s station as, according to the department’s website, all drug and alcohol offenses require that the suspect stays at the station until they are coherent enough to take care of themselves.
The morning after her legal snafu, Amanda was released with no bail, just a citation, and be required to show up to court when a date is scheduled
