Since the X-Factor’s third season drew record-low ratings, Simon Cowell is desperate to once again retool the judges’ panel – starting with firing recent hires Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio.

“Simon wants to start over,” says an insider. “He thinks the show needs a shot in the arm.” Kelly, 32, and Paulina, 42, are terrified this will damage their careers. But don’t expect sympathy from Simon. He’s an egomaniac and simply won’t accept failure,” says the source.
