Man ‘blows self up’ at Ukraine university

A 62-year-old man was killed and two wounded in the western Ukrainian city of Chernivtsi Thursday when a grenade he was carrying at blew up at the local university, prosecutors said.

“An analysis will determine whether the detonation was accidental or intentional,” a spokesperson for prosecutors told AFP.

Local media reports said the man had set the grenade off on purpose at the university to commit suicide. Two people — a professor and a student — were injured but did not need to be hospitalised.
Component of the factory manufactured bomb recovered from the scene of the blast. It has inscriptions showing that it was made in the US, but shipped through Brazil.
