They’re both fiercely creative individuals, so when Beyoncé Knowles and Jay-Z came up with their daughter Blue Ivy’s name, they decided to pursue a trademark.
Unfortunately for the “Crazy in Love” songstress and “99 Problems” rapper, the US Patent and Trademark Office isn’t hip to their request.
According to a report, an event planning company in Massachusetts also utilizes the Blue Ivy moniker and they’ve filed a lawsuit to keep the rights to their name.
From here, Beyonce and Jay-Z will have to look at other options for securing their baby girl’s unique name
