“Superstorm Sandy” Ripples of Hurricane may hit Lagos within 7 to 14 days – Commissioner

“Superstorm Sandy” Ripples of Hurricane may hit Lagos within 7 to 14 days – Commissioner

FOLLOWING the devastating effects of Hurricane Sandy, currently ravaging some parts of the United States of America, the Lagos State Government, yesterday alerted residents of a possible ripple effect of the hurricane such as ocean surge on the state’s coastal areas within the next seven days.

The alert was given by the state Commissioner for Waterfront and Infrastructure Development, Prince Segun Oniru; Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Lateef Ibirogba as well as Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment, Mr. Taofeek Folami, at a joint media briefing in Alausa, Ikeja.

It would be recalled that an Ocean surge occurred on August 17 at Kuramo Beach, Victoria Island and claimed 15 lives.

However, a professor of climatology at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Professor RNC Anyadike, countered that Nigeria could not suffer any ripple effect from the hurricane.

Asked if Lagos could suffer ripple effects from Hurricane Sandy, Anyadike said: “It is not possible. We don’t have hurricanes in West Africa.

“Meanwhile, Hurricane Sandy has already hit land, it will soon dissipate. What kind of ripple effect are they talking about? Do you know how far  we are from New York?

“The only thing we are likely to experience is heavy rainfall occasioned by climate change not hurricane.”

Oniru attributed the likely ripple effect of the Hurricane to the location of Lagos, lying parallel to the South America region.

His words: “We want to let Lagosians know what is going on, and what to expect, it is not to create panic, they should be careful around the ocean and lagoon. In the last five to six days, around the Caribbean, from Jamaica, Haiti, Cuba and Hurricane Sandy has hit the east coast of America.

“Normally, when such happens, and the magnitude of it hits that part of the world, we always have a ripple effect in Lagos and around the West Coast.

Also speaking, Ibirogba urged residents to be vigilant, assuring that the state government’s emergency response squad was on alert to manage any likely surge caused by the Hurricane.
Special Adviser on Environment, Folami however, warned residents to refrain from dumping refuse in drainages and canals.

6million people without power, 13 dead as Superstorm Sandy sweeps through the US

6million people without power, 13 dead as Superstorm Sandy sweeps through the US

America has never seen a storm like this. Over $15 billion in damages. At least 13 people killed. Homes destroyed. High-rise apartment buildings now islands. 6.5 million people in 13 states without power. Major airports in Northeast closed. Federal government offices closed. Three feet of heavy snow like concrete, storm surge 14 feet high, buildings on fire, transport in chaos. Mass transit system, schools, stock exchange, all shut down as Super Storm Sandy wrecks havoc in the US.

The New York City subway system which is 108 years old has never faced a disaster as devastating as what was experienced last night. Atlantic City in New Jersey has become an extension of the Atlantic Ocean as water pressed into the city from three sides, flooding rail yards, subway tracks, tunnels and roads. UK jails Nigerian ‘witchcraft’ sex trafficker for 20 years

UK jails Nigerian ‘witchcraft’ sex trafficker for 20 years

A Nigerian sex trafficker who used witchcraft rituals to silence the teenage girls he smuggled into Britain for prostitution was jailed for 20 years on Monday.
Osezua Osolase, 42, tricked three impoverished Nigerian orphans into travelling to Britain before attempting to sell them to gangs in Europe for prostitution.
The recycling plant worker, who lived in Kent, southeast England, used west African juju rituals to instill terror in the three girls, aged 14, 16 and 17.
“You are undoubtedly a very, very dishonest man,” said judge Adele Williams as she sentenced him at Canterbury Crown Court in Kent.
“You are arrogant and manipulative; you are devoid of conscience, devoid of any compassion to your victims.”
Osolase, who has HIV, was found guilty after a six-week trial on Friday of five counts of trafficking for sexual exploitation, one count of rape and one of sexual activity with a child.
The fact that he had raped one girl knowing that he has HIV was a “seriously aggravating” factor, Williams said.
It was recommended that Osolase be deported once he has served his sentence.
He had convinced the girls to travel to Britain with fake Nigerian passports by promising them an education and modelling careers, the court heard.
He was stopped at Stansted Airport, north of London, in April last year while attempting to board a plane.
His 16-year-old victim told police that he had performed a juju ritual on her in Nigeria in which blood was taken from her and hair was cut from her head and genitals.
She was then made to swear an oath of silence.
Police believe there were at least 25 victims of Osolase’s trafficking ring, which smuggled girls into Britain before passing them on to gangs in countries including Italy and Spain.

Police arrest stepfather who defiled 10-year-old girl

Police arrest stepfather who defiled 10-year-old girl

Ogun State police command, Monday, said it had arrested man, 62, Alabi Ibrahim who defiled his 10 year-old step daughter.
Vanguard gathered that, the suspect was arrested at his house in Onikolobo, Abeokuta Monday and was  whisked away by the policemen who reportedly laid ambush for him.
It was further gathered that Ibrahim was subsequently quizzed by the Oluwo Police Station, before he was   transferred to Ilupeju Police Station along Ayetoro road, an area where he allegedly committed the crime.
It would be recalled that, a girl accused her step daughter of allegedly having habitually carnal knowledge of her.
The suspect was also reported to have bolted when the police got to his house in Onikolobo, Abeokuta.
Vanguard reliably gathered that, following the completion of his interrogation by  Policemen at Ilupeju Station, the suspect was later  transferred to the  State Criminal Investigation Department of the Anti- Human Trafficking and Child Labour for further interrogation.
Confirming the arrest of the suspect, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi said the suspect will soon be charged to court.
He said “the suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department of Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour’ Adejobi told our correspondent”.
He further emphasised that, on completion of investigation the suspect will be charged to court, adding that the police is awaiting medical report carried out on the victim.

Warri Pastors Having Sêx With A Woman While Praying For Her To Get Pregnant (SEE VIDEO) – Warning Advised

Chei! Ignorance is a BIG disease.
A video has been leaked of a couple of inglorious Pastors having sex with a woman who has issues with childbirth in a secret place! In the video as she was being slept with, you would hear her saying the prayers in the delta state language after the evil pastors: “Power, Enter, Claiming her spiritual pregnancy! The most annoying part is that they told her to close her eyes tightly while he (pastor) violated her.  In fact I wouldn't call it violation because she was completely aware that a man was sleeping with her. Some rams also stood and videoed. How desperate can one be?
See picture after the cut, children below the age of 18 are advised to close their eyes, and to go and watch cartoon.

I would have uploaded the video here, but I choose not to. You can watch video HERE. Works with other browsers except Google Chrom. Please share, these are the kind of acts that needs to be stopped.

Fire ravages 5-storey Lagos Island house, kills 2, destroys goods worth millions on Saturday.

Fire ravages 5-storey Lagos Island house, kills 2, destroys goods worth millions on Saturday.

A fire outbreak has killed two young men and ravaged a five-storey building on the Lagos Island, destroying property worth millions. The building, close to the popular Mandilas Building is No 10-12 Breadfruit Street, which is used mainly by traders selling shoes, bags and clothing. It also housed a small branch of UBA Bank.

Spectators converged there, who were mainly shop owners, sales girls and residents of the area, told Jungle Journalist that the cause of the fire was unknown. Although fire service personnel and the police were already converged when Jungle Journalist arrived the scene, they could do nothing as the fire burnt on the fourth floor. Evidently, they had no ladders with which to climb up to quench the fire, which was already fiercely burning. It had eaten up the whole of the fourth floor, and rendered the fifth useless. Some brave young men were seen on the second and third floors trying to salvage their goods, and despite the heat, falling debris from the house, and pleas from onlookers for them to come down, they continued.

People were seen carrying their goods to safety, and the police who stood around watched intently, ensuring that nothing was stolen. Several men and even women were seen wailing uncontrollably, weeping that their investments were completely gone. A woman, who was identified as Madam Mgbocha, whom the reporter tried to comfort, said that she lost her husband a few months ago, and have now lost everything he left for her to raise their children. She just kept wailing. Another was seen been comforted by her husband who also tried hard to fight the tears. It was clear that their shops were on the very floor where the fire burnt. Another lady, Uloma who said she did no wait to recover anything stated that the building was known to burn every year. “How can a house be burning every year? Something is suspicious about this house. Two years ago, a boy jumped down from it while the fire burnt. I don’t know whether he died. Last year again, the house burnt again.” She praised two other girls who were with her, commending them for running out with their lives, unlike those who stayed back to pack their things. “Don’t mind them. Their masters have all ran out and they are thee risking their lives. If you die, will the goods come back?” About five minutes after she spoke, the pillars holding the floor collapsed, and the two floors above crashed down, sending hot debris all around and people to their heels. People were screaming “It has killed them! It has killed them!” while some boys were able to run out, a man was seen crying, stating that his brother was probably dead, since he was up there when the house crashed. Another woman was crying too, trying to reach someone who was up there on the phone. All her efforts were in vain, as it seemed that whoever it was hit by that crash

TODAY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH BOMBING IN KADUNA Many dead and wounded in Kaduna’s day of violence

TODAY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH BOMBING IN KADUNA
Many dead and wounded in Kaduna’s day of violence

The suicide bombing of Kaduna’s St Rita Catholic Church and the counter attack that it has spawned has Nigerian church on Sunday, have left over 10 peopledead and 145 wounded.

Christian youths took to the streets of Nigeria’s northern city of Kaduna with machetes and sticks after the blast, targeting those they believed to be Muslims as anger again boiled over due to repeated church bombings in recent months.

Attackers beat a motorcycle taxi driver near the church, then put his bike on top of him before dousing him with petrol and setting him on fire, an AFP correspondent who saw the violence said. Two other bloodied bodies apparently killed by the mob were seen near the church.

Despite the presence of armed security operatives around Malali area, the mob found in motor cycle riders, suspected to be muslims soft targets.
P.M.NEWS learnt that the same group of angry christian youths also attacked a viewing centre, where some Muslims were watching football. Witnesses said no fewer than ten persons were stabbed and injured .
The mob also attacked an ambulance in the ensuing violence, but there was no indication that rescuers were wounded.
To stem the tide of violence, the joint military and police patrol team has blocked all roads leading to Malali and neighbouring villages. And more security men have been deployed to the area.
A JTF helicopter was seen hovering around the town to identify areas where crisis might be brewing .
The exact number of casualties is yet to be ascertained.
At the Saint Gerald Catholic Hospital , Kaduna , 14 persons injured were receiving treatment.
“So far we have eight dead and 145 injured from the church blast,” Musa Ilallah, regional coordinator for the National Emergency Management Agency, told AFP, noting that his death toll included the suspected bomber.
The attacker rammed what residents said was an SUV into St. Rita church, shaking the Malali neighbourhood of Kaduna, a city that has suffered a wave of deadly violence blamed on Islamist extremist group Boko Haram.
“All of a sudden it drove on high speed and rammed into the church wall, forcing its way into the church premises,” said witness Samuel Emmanuel.
“Initially I thought the driver had lost control of the vehicle. Suddenly there was a huge explosion as the car reached the church building. It was dust, fire and smoke all over.”
A spokesman for Nigeria’s National Emergency Management Agency confirmed the bomb attack and said rescuers had been rushed to the scene.
“A number of casualties evacuated to hospitals,” said Yushau Shuaib. The incident was suspected to be triggered by a suicide bomber in a car.”
An AFP correspondent said mobs were yelling “why the church?” and some were carrying weapons, including machetes. Local elders were seeking to restore calm.
Residents had earlier spoken of clashes having broken out between Christian and Muslim residents.
The attack came after Friday’s Muslim Eid al-Adha holiday, but it was not clear if there was any link. pmnews

Kaduna church bombing sparks revenge

 Kaduna church bombing sparks  revenge

A suspected suicide attacker slammed a car bomb into a church during services on Sunday in the city of Kaduna, killing two other people and sparking reprisal attacks by Christians.
Christian youths took to the streets with machetes and sticks afterward, targeting people they believed to be Muslims as anger again boiled over due to the repeated church bombings in recent months, an AFP correspondent reported.
A vehicle for rescue workers was attacked in the ensuing violence, but there was no indication that rescuers were wounded.
“At least three people are confirmed dead,” a rescue official said on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to give out figures. He was speaking of the toll from the suicide bombing.
He added later that the toll included the suspected attacker and that there were a number of injuries.
The strong blast that saw the attacker ram what residents said was an SUV into St. Rita church shook the neighbourhood and led to the reprisals in the city previously hit by violence blamed on Islamist extremist group Boko Haram.
The rescue source said the attacker had sought to drive into the church, but seemed to have hit a barrier. Others in the area said the bomber continued to drive after hitting the church wall and made his way inside the church premises.
A spokesman for Nigeria’s National Emergency Management Agency said it had received reports of a bomb blast in the area of a Catholic church and rushed rescuers to the scene.
“They were talking about a bomb explosion,” said Yushau Shuaib of the reports, while adding that his agency was however seeking to confirm details.
“A number of casualties evacuated to hospitals. The incident was suspected to be triggered by a suicide bomber in a car …”
He said later that a rescue vehicle had been attacked in the violence afterward, but no workers were wounded.
An AFP correspondent said mobs were yelling “why the church?” and some were carrying weapons, including machetes. Local elders were seeking to restore calm.
Residents had earlier spoken of clashes having broken out between Christian and Muslim residents.
The explosion occurred in the Malali area of the city. Kaduna, a major city in Nigeria’s north, has been previously hit by attacks blamed on Boko Haram.
The attack came after Friday’s Muslim Eid al-Adha holiday, but it was not clear if there was any link.
In June, Boko Haram claimed responsibility for three suicide attacks on churches in Kaduna state, where the city of Kaduna is located, which led to deadly rioting. Dozens of people were killed in the violence.
Boko Haram’s insurgency in northern and central Nigeria has led to more than 2,800 deaths since 2009. While Muslims have often been its victims, it has in recent months specifically targeted churches.
President Goodluck Jonathan has said the group is seeking to incite a religious crisis in Africa’s most populous nation and largest oil producer, roughly divided between a mainly Muslim north and predominately Christian south.
Kaduna is a large city in the north and with a sizable Christian population.
Nigerians have grown increasingly frustrated with security forces’ inability to stop Boko Haram attacks, and there have been warnings of more reprisals if the violence continued.
Some Evangelical church leaders have said Christians may be forced to defend themselves if something is not done to address the violence.

BREAKING...Suicide Bomber Hits Catholic Church in Kaduna

BREAKING...Suicide Bomber Hits Catholic Church in Kaduna

A suicide bomber has hit St. Rita Catholic Church in Ungwar Yero area of Kaduna metropolis. The attack which seriously injured the Reverend father in the church occurred around 8:45 AM during the morning mass.

Eyewitnesses said that a lone car bomber approached the church gate hoping to quietly drive into the church before exploding the bomb but the security men at the gate refused him entry.

The bomber then reversed his car and rammed it forcefully against the gate of the church, the gate caved in as the bomb exploded injuring several churchgoers.

Nigerian troops have cordoned off the area while the police and Kaduna state government officials are calming down christian residents in the area to avoid religious confrontations that typically follows such attack in the state.

How Nigerian Man used Witchcraft to Terrify & Traffick Teenagers into Sex Slavery in UK

How Nigerian Man used Witchcraft to Terrify & Traffick Teenagers into Sex Slavery in UK

Whenever we hear stories of young girls being forced into sex slavery and prostitution, it always leaves us feeling really sad. The story of a 42 year-old Nigerian man who used witchcraft rituals to force terrified teenagers to work as sex slaves in the UK is no different.

Osezua Osolase was on the surface, a recycling worker living in a terraced house in Gravesend, Kent. But he was in fact the British linchpin of a multi-million pound global child sex trafficking ring that used medieval ‘juju’ black magic to control its victims.

In 2007, he was deported back to Nigeria after police caught him trying to use stolen credit cards. But he simply married a mysterious German woman and returned to the country the following year with a five-year visa. He used his home as a secret staging post for vulnerable teenage orphans as they were smuggled from Africa to several European countries.

Detectives discovered evidence that at least 28 victims were smuggled in and out of Britain by Osolase over a 14-month period, earning him up to £1.5million.

In a chilling report by Daily Mail UK, the way the young victims aged 14, 16 and 17 were raped, sexually abused and subjected to voodoo-style rituals once in the clutches of the trafficking ring was highlighted.

One was raped and all three endured juju rituals, including one conducted by Osolase himself. One feared she was being taken to another country to be used as a human sacrifice. A jury was told Osolase slashed the chest of his youngest victim with a razor and rubbed black powder into her bleeding wounds. She was ordered to take an oath of loyalty to him and believed that if she broke it she would not have children, go mad and die.

Osolase groomed her after the death of her parents by visiting her village with presents and saying she would go to school in Europe. But he abducted her and said she should prepare for life as a prostitute in Italy where she would be raped by ‘white men who smoked drugs’.

The other two girls were terrorised by a local witchdoctor in Nigeria shortly before being flown out of the country with promises of an education and modelling work.

The 16-year-old told police she was taken to a ‘place of witchcraft’ where she was told to bathe in a ‘bloody gunk’ and wrap blood-soaked cloth around her. As Osolase watched, a man wearing feathers on his head cut hair from her armpits, cut some of her finger and toenails and took blood from her hand with a syringe. She was told that the body parts taken in the ritual would be used to find and kill her if she tried to run away or failed to repay her captor.

The 17-year-old wept as she described how she was tricked into travelling to Britain with the promise that she would go to school. She was made to drink a potion laced with blood.

At the Canterbury Crown Court, Dr Hermoine Harris, an expert in Nigerian religions, told the jury the juju rituals carried huge weight in Nigerian society. “By taking someone’s blood you hold and control somebody’s very essence and their power.”

Osolase was convicted of five counts of human trafficking, rape and sexual activity with a child and would be sentenced on Monday.

It is such a huge relief that these girls have been released from the clutch of their captor. After their scary experience, we pray they find healing and restoration and we wish them the very best in life.

Nigerian Student Breaks World Record, Scores 4.0 / 4.0 In Turkish University

Nigerian Student Breaks World Record, Scores 4.0 / 4.0 In Turkish University

A genius could be referred to as an exceptional child who is academically sound. But, how would you describe an individual who never misses a point in his examinations from first year in the university to the final year?

If there is any adjective to qualify such a person, that word could best describe Tunji Olu-Taiwo, an Engineering student of Eastern Mediterranean University in the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus who obtained 4.0 CGPA out of 4.0 CGPA, the first ever in the department.

More details when you continue

Encomiums have continued to be showered on Tunji Olu-Taiwo from various quarters, because his impressive performance has placed him in the spotlight.

Over the years, Nigeria’s human resources have ranked among the best in the world partly due to the profound efforts of critical-minded parents that stimulate the astuteness that hides within every student, begging for whom to push the trigger.

Tunji Olu-Taiwo, who hails from Ifako-Ijaye Local Government Area of Lagos State, emerged the best graduating student from the Faculty of Engineering, obtaining a status of High Honours (first class).

Tunji is the first African to have bagged such a status in the Department of Engineering, obtaining a degree in Engineering on a Grade Point Average of 4.00 out of 4.00 (straight A’s).

Amid great honour and eulogy sang by the students and academic, expressing marvel at the development, Vanguard met with Tunji in an online chat to speak more on his success.

Mark Elliot Zuckerberg as Role Model

“I am looking up to Mark Zuckerberg, he is a genius I love to emulate,” Tunji said. Mark Elliot Zuckerberg (born May 14, 1984) is an American computer programmer and Internet entrepreneur. He is best known as one of the five co-founders of the social networking site, Facebook. Zuckerberg is the chairman and chief executive of Facebook. Inc.

Further Study

“I plan to further by specializing in the field of software engineering. “Software Engineering is a course I have cherished right from time. I know I owe the society more with this, that is the reason that I wish to go further in that regard for this dream to be fulfilled.”

Hopes and challenges in Nigeria

Tunji expressed hope in Nigeria when he said; “there is no place like home,” adding; “I like the fact that no matter the difficult situations Nigerians find themselves in, they still try to be happy.”

Advice for the Government

Poverty, I believe is the greatest distraction, frustrating process of seeking admission into universities and lack of steady electricity are some dire challenges the people, especially students, usually grapple with, in his honest opinion. Tunji advised the government thus:

“Admissions should be done on a per semester basis. I will advise that the Federal Government should try to provide constant electricity. This, to me, will automatically eradicate about 50 per cent of Nigeria’s problems. Also, a simple advice for all students is that the road to success is not on a straight path. Patience is a very important virtue that should be put to good use.”

His Background

“My father, Dr. Mike Olufemi Taiwo is a dental surgeon and a retired army officer. He is from Lagos State. My mother, Mrs. Ajoke Lillian Olu-Taiwo is a business consultant. She hails from Kogi State.

My parents modelled my life the way it is today. They took time to instil discipline in me. I was born and raised in the great city of Kano. I grew up in a large Catholic family, with three brothers and four sisters. I started reading at a very young age. My parents made sure I did my assignments and that zeal still remains in me up to this moment.”

Tunji’s father who spoke with Vanguard about Tunji’s up- bringing said; “I brought up all my children in Kano. I noticed that many parents allow their children freedom to wander about after school which I detested so I made it mandatory for my children to remain home-bound. I was part of their lives. I made sure their home works were done and their books studied on daily basis. I was their mentor and at the same time, their friend.

“Nevertheless, because all work without play makes Jack a dull boy, so I provided indoor games for my children. When they were big enough to play table tennis, I played the game with them. It was fun.

“I also taught them chess and was always beating them, but when Tunji came from Cyprus, he started beating me hands down and I began to marvel. I was not too surprised about the result he made,” said Dr Olu Taiwo.

Nigerian Stowaway found dead in Arik Airplane’s Undercarriage

Nigerian Stowaway found dead in Arik Airplane’s Undercarriage

It is really sad that the desperation to leave the country in search of what many would call greener pastures has led them to their death. Today, we have been shocked with the news of the dead body of a young Nigerian man found in the wheel well, the undercarriage compartment of an Arik Air aircraft, after it returned from a flight to New York, United States.

One of the airline’s officials told This Day that the deceased might have hidden himself in the wheel well for days and was crushed to death while the flight was airborne to the JF Kennedy Airport, New York, from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. He added that the dead body was found during a check on the aircraft panel as it was being prepared for another flight and that the undercarriage compartment of the Airbus A340-500 is big enough to accommodate a person, besides the space for the tyres.

It seems ridiculous for someone to think he or she can hide in the wheel well of an aircraft while the plane is flying, doesn’t it? The source further said that it is out of ignorance that people hide in the wheel well and plan to stowaway because “the compartment is not pressurised like the cabin of an aircraft and it is not heated, so survival is rare even if the person is not crushed by the wheels.”

Pilots and aeronautical engineers familiar with the wheel well compartment said it is roomy enough to contain a human being, but it is highly unlikely that any one who hid there would come out alive after a flight that took several hours due to lack of oxygen.

The official attributed the incident to porous security at the airport, noting that “if having access to the airside is stringently prohibited, anybody that is not an official of airlines, handling companies and Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria would not gain access to the tarmac.”

Further investigations by ThisDay revealed that stowaways connive with ground handling companies to access the airside and the wheel well.

In March 2010, a Nigerian, Okechukwu Okeke was found dead in the nose wheel compartment of the United States carrier, Delta Airline, Boeing B777 aircraft parked on the tarmac of the Lagos airport.

We have heard of people travelling through the desert, trying to enter foreign countries by road and other means. But this sounds to risky to even be considered. We don’t know what might have pushed him to do this or how he even got there, but we pray that his soul shall Rest in Peace.

Nicki Minaj snubs Mario Balotelli after Manchester concert

Nicki Minaj snubs Mario Balotelli after Manchester concert

We’d put money on Mario Balotelli listening to Nicki Minaj, through his pink headphones.

Not only did he go to see her and her incredible bottom at Manchester’s MEN on Monday, he’d tee’d up a meet and greet with her too.

However, rapper Nicki snubbed Mario after the gig because she was tired.

A source said: “Mario was gutted. He’s a big fan and turned up with gifts along with his other Man City team-mates.

“But Nicki was too tired after the gig and feasted on a massive Nando’s order instead — so he went home disappointed. He’d even bought a camera especially.”

It was probably for the best as Mario and the players were on strict no-party orders because they had to be up early to head to Amsterdam. The team flew out to face Ajax in the Champions League, where they lost 3-1.

Governor Rotimi Amaechi Buys $50 Million Bombardier Jet, Amid State’s Flood Disaster

Governor Rotimi Amaechi' private jet

Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State has acquired a brand new Bombardier Global 5000 (N565RS) for his exclusive use, SaharaReporters has learnt.

Mr. Amaechi’s lavish new “toy” comes at a time hundreds of thousands of residents in his state are displaced by the worst flooding crisis in the state’s history.

The newly purchased jet left Montreal-Trudeau Airport in Montreal, Quebec to Dakar Yoff International Airport. And then it was delivered to the state government on October 7th 2012.

The jet was primarily purchased from Bombardier in Canada for $45.7 million through the Bank of Utah Trustee account. “This is an ungodly act,” said a Port Harcourt-based human rights campaigner. “Why should Governor Amaechi’s priority be to acquire a jet at a time the state is experiencing the worst flooding in its history, leaving many Rivers indigenes homeless?” he added.

Last year Mr. Amaechi traded off the state’s current Embraer Legacy 600 claiming it was too expensive to maintain. There were also unconfirmed claims that the jet was struck by lightning.

The oil-rich Rivers State already owns an AW139 helicopter which it leased to Aero Contractors. The state then turned around to patronize Aero’s VIP Sikorsky S76C helicopter at a cost one critic described as “exorbitant and unjustified.”

Last year, the state government sold its Dash 8-Q200 aircraft to Cross River State for $6 million. Cross River State then leased the plane to Aero Contractors to undertake commercial flights to and from Obudu airstrip in the state.

Rivers State owned Embraer Legacy 3000 jet solfd to Cross River’s state at a giveaway price.Rivers State owned Agusta

Governor Rotimi Amaechi and his wife watching President Goodluck Jonathan speaking to citizens in Ahoada LGA of the state, the area was devastated by flooding rendering thosands of Rivers state citizens homeless, unknown to many Mr. Amaechi had just taken delivery of a brand new $50 million Bombardier Global 5000 jet a week earlier.

Alleged murder of mum: P-Square opens up!

Alleged murder of mum: P-Square opens up!

Our  journey into the music  world

It started like a dream but today, we thank God all the glory because it has become a reality. When we started, we had late Michael Jackson as our mentor. That was why in  one of our songs titled, Busy Body which we released about 12 years ago, we tried to copy  Michael Jackson’s dance steps.

Then, our fans used to call us, Paul and Peter. He influenced our musical career. We were challenged by Michael Jackson’s huge achievements in the world of music. We said to ourselves, if Michael Jackson could do all of these, we could equally do better. So, we tried our best and by the grace of God and our fans, we have realise  our dreams.

Deal with Konvict music

The only thing we can say, is that we have been signed under Konvict. And to prove this new deal which most people are still doubting, we featured Akon in our ‘’Chop my Money” remix.

Our private life!

You call it private and that’s why, most times we don’t like to discuss it for personal reasons.

Handling your female fans!

My dear, it is not easy. However,  we handle everybody with love and care. One thing is to be a celebrity, and  another is knowing how to handle all that comes with it. Sometimes, they will call on  us just to hear our voices and to wish us well.

What do you do during your leisure time?

Sometimes, we swim or play basketball with our friends.

Why was J. Martins not featured in your latest album, “Invasion”?

We have no problem with J Martins. He was not in the country when we released the album. You know as we are busy so also are others too.  And you don’t expect them to displease themselves in order to please you. But we are in good terms.

Challenges in the industry so far….

A lot of challenges, sometimes after releasing an album our marketers will want to give us condition that we go 50/50. It’s very difficult to compromise with them. Sometimes, if you enter the studio to record you song, they will compel you to do what you wouldn’t want  to do.

The craziest thing you have ever done!

Laughs.. that was when we went for a night party some years ago. Some desperate girls were all over us and before we knew what was happening, they were kissing and romancing us openly. We had to run for our dear lives.

Most embarrassing moment

It was when we were coming up. Some of our kinsmen walked up to us and told us that its high time we join them in the village and stop roaming about as if  we are not conversant with the tradition of our people. We felt embarrassed. But unfortunately, we later adhered to their advice.

How do you feel about your mum’ s death?

We feel so bad to know that our mum is no more. But who are we to question the Almighty God. Traditionally, we are supposed to bury her and not the other way round. It is just that it happened so soon.. Indeed, her death was a big blow to us.

It was rumoured that you people knew what happened to her?

Then, it is too bad to hear that people are accusing us of being responsible for our mum’s death. We are not blaming anybody. People are free to say what they want to say. We begin to wonder whether  there is anything that will ever make us to go for the life of our beloved mother.

Her life cannot be quantified in terms of money or fame. So, our answer to this question is that we have no hand in our mum’s death. We only blame the death that snatched her away from us if not so, people won’t be pointing accusing fingers at us. She died after a brief illness.

Aside your mum’s death, there was another rumour that you guys have joined Illuminati?

We are short of words. Why would anybody say such things about us? Well, the fact remains that we do not belong to any secret cult,  whether  Illuminati or anything you call it. We owe our achievements and everything that is happening to us to Almighty God.

I start this memo by quoting the lyrics from Abolore Akandes(9ice)song where he mentioned the words "baaaaastard"in reference to his ex friend rugged man.

Ikechukwu(Jim my axx) you are exactly what 9ice said,a "baaaaastard"

I did an exclusive story that your 11yr old son has surfaced, which is true, abi you wan contest am?
The story went viral and probably spoilt your chances of one of your yahoo-yahoo love scams in Houston where you are as I write this. ---and you go gaga?

...And  you used your cunnilingus fingernails to dial my home phone and use the swear words on my family ......to the hearing of my children who are still traumatized, the children you so badly desire to have one day as a human being, the ones you used to refer to as "beautiful'.

You called me "ugly bitch" and you are so frigging correct, the thing is of all your plenty sisters,I cannot remember anyone of them winning the Most beautiful girl in Nigeria beauty pageant or even Miss world.
Your anger has brought you nothing but bad luck.ask yourself why you have no true friends or why no press man will touch you with a long pole. ...go on,ask yourself!

You keep threatening to beat up anyone you enter into your log of bad books and I wonder if you are Superman. Na so you go Cameron them beat you so tey your fingers broke and you cooked up the "falling on a glass table"story.tell it to the cuckoos!

If you ever think of swearing to beat me up because I did an exclusive that you have an 11yr old son who is in existence,I will find you and the day you lay your epileptic hands on me will be the last day you ever try to beat up any woman again!...agbaya go and find your mate to bully!

At your age(you don pass 40yrs abeg)you should be happy of such news but instead you are in Houston running from various one dollar shops to another and after you go spread pics for Internet begging for headlines like "Jim iyke spends trillions on shopping spree"..Na today?

If you read this memo, you are free to leave an anonymous hater comment here or any where else but please delete my numbers from your phone and do not call.
Go and see a shrink doctor and get help for anger management abeg.

You seem to think everyone is envious of you, wetin you get?you freaking parade used cars in your 'rented'garage in Abuja,I roll a brand new Mercedes, tear rubber!

I know you will read this,so I close with this 'stellar advice'

"It is only an heediot like you that refuses to see the handwriting on the wall, even when the letters are slapping at your pomo mouth".

You are a liar,a cheat and you have a wicked wicked heart. if you call me ugly because I kick ass with my stories, remember I granted you your first ever interview where you said your then ex(actress stephnora okere)used to beg to be beaten before sex?bollocks!
All the 11years i have been a reporter,i have done nothing but defend your sorry ass even when i knew your hands were soiled...that's what 'freinds' are for !
