Khloé Kardashian Odom Quits PETA Over Jaw-Dropping Link to Kim's Flour-Bombing
After years of being a vocal supporter for PETA (not to mention posing for one of the organizations famously nude PSAs), Khloé Kardashian Odom has officially severed ties with the animal-rights organization.
Writing on her blog and Twitter, the reality star explains that she is "absolutely disgusted by their behavior" after a shocking link surfaced between the group and the flour-bomb attack on Kim Kardashian last week.
It has confirmed that the woman who blasted Kim is Christina Cho, a very active animal rights activist who PETA has past referred to as a "superstar activist." The organization even presented Cho with an award in 2010 for her activism.
Now the crazy connection part: Christina is the sister of Los Angeles-based PETA official Michelle Cho, who helped coordinate Khloé's nude PETA PSA. Michelle was even featured in a Keeping Up With the Kardashians episode dedicated to Khloé's PETA shoot.
A source close to the situation tells E! News exclusively that Christina's flour-powered stunt was done without the knowledge—or sactioning—of Michelle or PETA.
In a statement PETA says: "We are very fond of Christina. She is a very kind, wonderful volunteer who is deeply moved by cruelty to animals." The organization has also promised to foot the bill for any legal expenses incurred by Christina stemming from the incident.
Guess Who's "So Proud" of Kim Kardashian for Taking That Flour Bomb Like a Champ?
But while they might be simpatico spirits, Christina's actions aren't sitting right with Khloé. "I just received word that the woman responsible has very close ties to PETA, despite PETA publicly stating otherwise," the younger Kardashian writes. "Not only has PETA lied to the public, but they have proved that they support this kind of behavior."
Though she's ending her professional affiliation with the animal activists, Khloé doesn't plan on lifting her own personal ban on wearing fur. The reality star went on to say, "I've been a vocal supporter of PETA for a long time but I have also been very vocal about anti-bullying, so this was a huge disappointment for me. As you all know, I don't condone violence and bullying and what happened last Thursday was just that."
While Kim Kardashaian first laughed off the incident, she is now considering pursuing legal action.
