Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband Kris Humphries finally got closure after his 72-day marriage to the narcissistic reality TV star ended in divorce.
The NY Daily News reports Humphries successfully auctioned off Kim’s gaudy Lorraine Schwartz-designed 16.2-carat emerald cut engagement ring for $749,000 today at Christies Auction House. The final price was well above the $500,000 Christies estimated the ring would fetch at auction.
The bidding war came down to four people — 2 phone bidders and 2 people bidding in person. There is no confirmation that one of the phone bidders was Kim’s baby daddy, Kanye West.
The surprise was that Kim gave up the ring after manipulating Humphries into dropping $2 million on the ostentatious bauble.
But according to Humphries’ lawyer, Lee Hutton, Kim had no choice but to part with the rock.
“It was something that was a part of the divorce… the dissolution agreement,” Hutton told The News. “Kris is pleased with the outcome of the sale and the fact he can give a portion of the proceeds to a deserving charity. He’s in the process of selecting the charity now.”
