A nanny was caught on camera seriously maltreating a 4-month-old baby.
The nanny is caught on camera as she lifted the baby up and threw her back of the floor repeatedly. The helpless baby is seen crying, but there is no one to help.

JA RULE Released from Prison.......


Ja Rule ... aka inmate #07608730Q ... is finally out of prison, roughly 21 months after being locked up on gun charges ... but he's not exactly a free man yet.

Rule had been locked up at the Mid-State Correctional Facility in New York since June 2011 -- where he was in protective custody due to his celebrity status. Rule was serving a 2-year sentence stemming from a gun conviction.

But he's not out of the woods yet ... 'cause Rule still has time to serve on the 28-month sentence he was ordered to serve stemming from a federal tax evasion conviction.

Officials say Rule was escorted out of the prison early Thursday morning by U.S. Marshals ... and is still in custody ... but it's unclear where he'll serve out the remainder of his time.

Rule's lawyer says the rapper might have less than 6 months left on his sentence ... and could be eligible for a halfway house. There's also a chance he could land in federal prison ... but some of those are like country clubs.

Either way ... probably better than the Mid-State Correctional Facility.

Nigerian Senate Endorses Death Sentence for Terrorists


The Nigerian Senate yesterday unanimously endorsed the death penalty for any person engaged in acts of terrorism in the country. The penalties were contained in a conference report on a Bill for an Act to amend the Terrorism (Prevention) Act, 2011 and for other related matters.

The Nation writes that the report was earlier stepped down because some senators opposed the designation of the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) to co-ordinate counter terrorism. But yesterday, the Clause was retained as part of the Act.

According to provisions of the bill, it prohibits “all acts of terrorism and financing of terrorism”.

It also states that “A person or body corporate who knowingly in or outside Nigeria directly or indirectly willingly; does, attempts or threatens any act of terrorism or commits an act preparatory to or in furtherance of an act of terrorism; or omits to do anything that is reasonably necessary to prevent an act of terrorism or assists or facilitates the activities of persons engaged in an act of terrorism or is an accessory to any offence under this Act or participates as an accomplice in or contributes to offences under the Act, assists, facilitates, organises or directs the activities of persons or organisation engaged in any act of terrorism or is an accessory to any act of terrorism; incites, promises or induces any other person by any means whatsoever to commit any act of terrorism or any of the offences referred to in this Act commits an offence under this Act and is liable on conviction to maximum of death sentence.”

Earlier, the Senate version prescribed life imprisonment for offences under the Clause while the House of Representatives’ version prescribed death penalty.

The report said after deliberation, the House’s version of death penalty for acts of terrorism was adopted.

The bride was 61 years old and the groom was an eight-year-old boy! Both families were present at the wedding of Sanele Masilela (8.) and Helen Shabangu (61) and the bride's husband and her five children were also at the wedding in Zimbabwe.

 The boy's aunt, Patience Masilela (46), explained why the wedding took place.

 She said: "The boy was named after his late grandfather who never had a white wedding, so the ancestors told the boy to get married and he chose Helen to be his bride. The family took his desire to get married very seriously. They paid  for the bride in March last year and spent a lot on the wedding because they believed it was what the ancestors wanted."

 The bride said: "I'm married and have five kids of my own, but I know that this is what the ancestors wanted – and now they are happy. It is a ritual. We are just playing now, but it is a sign that he will get married one day."

 The young groom said: "I told my mother that I wanted to get married because I really did want to. I chose her because I love her and I'm happy that I married her – but I will go to school and study hard. When I'm older I will marry a lady my own age."

 The bride's long-time husband, Alfred Shabangu (65), said that he never had a problem with her marrying the boy because he too knew that it was what the ancestors wanted. My kids and I are happy. We don't have any problems with it," he said.

 However, some community members said they were shocked.

 One woman said: "How can a family go this far for the ancestors? It shows that people do take messages from the ancestors seriously."

 This was a not a legal marriage – it was only done for ritual purposes. The happy couple seal their marriage with a kiss.

Legendary actor, Justus Esiri, died suddenly Tuesday night, throwing the entertainment industry into mourning. He was 71 years. His death was preceded by the death of Lugard Onoyemu and songstress Goldie Harvey.

Esiri, 71, reportedly died of complications resulting from diabetes at an undisclosed  hospital in Lagos.

The president of Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Miss Ibinabo Fiberesima confirmed the death of Esiri in a statement she made available to Vanguard.

Ibinabo said: “We regret to announce the passing away of our member and veteran actor, Justus Esiri who died last night (Tuesday). He was said to have died of complications resulting from diabetes at a hospital in Lagos.”

“Declared as one of the strong men of the African film industry, Justus Esiri is widely known for his role in the now rested popular TV series, The Village Headmaster. We commiserate with the family and pray that God gives us the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”

Also, announcing Esiri’s death online, one of his sons, popular pop singer, Sidney ‘Dr SID’ Esiri put up a photo of the veteran actor on his Twitter avatar and updated his bio as ‘RIP Dad.‘

Meanwhile, reacting to his death, former president of AGN, Mr. Ejike Aseigbu described Justus Esiri as “one of the best actors this country has ever produced .”

He said: “I’m pained because we have lost a legend. Last week, we lost the pioneer Secretary of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Lagos chapter, Lugard Onoyemu, who slumped and died during a football training at the National Stadium, Surulere. However, I found Justus Esiri quite inspiring, he was a loving man.”

On his own, Segun Arinze said “It is so bad. Uncle Justus Esiri was a figure and a great motivator to us. He left a legacy that needs to be sustained. Justus Esiri contributed his quota to the growth of the industry. It is a very bad news, we will miss him.”

Monalisa Chinda, who expressed shock when she heard of Esiri’s death said, “I don’t really know what to say at the moment. I am totally devastated.”

In a career that spanned decades, late Esiri, shot to lime light in the early 80’s through the popular TV series, Village Headmaster which aired on the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA. He also featured in many interesting Nollywood movies.

Two years ago, the late Esiri was one of the actors who ran to the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye for a special prayer session against consistent deaths and sicknesses in the industry. The event was held at the church’s headquarters in Ebute-Metta, Lagos.

Born on 20 November 1942 in Oria-Abraka, Delta State, Esiri attended Urhobo College, Effurun, Warri in Delta State. He travelled to Germany to study engineering at the Maximillan University, Munich, Germany, 1964, where he developed an interest in theatre.

Esiri started his acting career in Germany. He was the only Nigerian male that performed  on stage between 1968 and 1969. He also worked for Voice of Nigeria VON, German Service, as a translator.

The veteran actor won several laurels including THEMA Awards, NTA Honours Awards and AMAA awards. He was also the star actor in acclaimed productions such as “Wasted Years”, “Forever,” “The Prize”, “Six Demons”, “Corridors of Power”, “Last Knight”, “The Tyrant”, ‘The Investigation”, “The Ghost.” He was also reputed to have performed on more TV Network drama programmes than any Nigerian actor.

Assassin’s Practice, one of the most recent movies where he featured, was produced last year.

Late Esiri was last seen at a social function few weeks ago when a delegation of the Federal Government led by  Secretary to the Federal Government, Chief Anyim Pius Anyim, met some major stakeholders in the Movie industry in Lagos, to inform them of the forthcoming centenary celebration and to seek the support of the Nollywood industry.

At the close-door parley, Esiri bubbled with life. He sat next to the Secretary to the Federal Government, Chief Anyim Pius Anyim, and did not show any sign of failing health.

Esiri’s death came two months after another veteran actor, Enebeli Elebuwa, a.k.a Andrew died in an Indian hospital and 18 months after legendary actor, Sam Loko Efe also took his bow.

In one of his last interviews, Esiri had lamented his deteriorating health condition, saying “I had to be rushed abroad. But since I came back, I’ve not been fine-it’s either one sickness or the other. But thank God things will get better.”

He was married to Omiete and had six children, one of them being Dentist-turned pop artiste, Dr SID.

An Insider opened up that Wizzy (his nickname) is at war with Banky W and EME because he wants a contract review which Banky W has refused to grant him.

The source pointed out that since Ayodeji Balogun known as Wizkid signed with EME, he has been getting just 25% from whatever he gets paid to perform at an event with Banky W's Empire Mate Entertainment.

 EME is owned by Banky W and Segun Demuren who get 50%; and Osagie, Wizzy's ex-manager who introduced him to Banky after big record labels like Mo-Hits and Storm records rejected him, also got 25%  from his hard earned money.

“It is true they are having problems and this might just be the end of EME and Wizkid. When Wizzy signed his first (and last)contract with EME late in 2009, he saw Banky as his messiah because he was nobody in the music industry. It was a 75-25 sharing formula.

Then Wizkid didn’t mind because he was bent on building his musical career. In his contract, Banky W promised to take care of his accommodation, feeding and also his school and based on this fact, Wizkid accepted all the terms of agreement. Later, Wizzy sacked his manager, Osagie replacing her with Godwin because he felt she was getting too much.

Wizkid was getting just 25% from every show because EME would take 50% while Osagie was taking 25%." Says an inside source.

Wizzy sacked Osagie because she was not ready to receive 10%, but it doesn't end there. He was also having problems with Osagie who refused to come to terms with the fact that he was no longer the boy she picked up 4 years ago and couldn't be bossed around.

The two had a bad falling out during which things deteriorated to the point where they began calling each other names. After the fight, he sacked Osagie.

This development did not go down well with Banky W but because Wizzy was close to the end of his contract with EME, he gave in. Osagie was replaced by Godwin, who works for EME, and still continued too get 25%. So till the expiration of the old contract, 75% was still going to EME, while Wizkid made do with 25%.

When Wizkid’s contract expired late last year, he wanted a contract review requesting the 75-25 sharing formula be reviewed to 50-50 but Banky would not accept his proposal.

Banky wanted EME to provide a manager who would keep taking 25%, but Wiz insisted he wanted 50%, and that he would pay his manager out of his own pocket.

This issue had been dragging since September 2012 and that could have explained why  Wizkid moved out of Banky’s Ogudu GRA residence and got a new apartment in Lekki.

What got Wizzy miffed was that he was making all the money for EME and was getting less. Also, the money being made was being used to finance the project of other EME stars namely, Niyola, Skales and Shaydee.

Apparently Wizkid’s international fame gave him more confidence to stand out on his own. Riding on this platform, he signed a management deal with Disturbing London, an international management company. Right now, his second Album is ready and features stars like Wale, Chris Brown, Tinie Tempar and others.

Another inside source also adds: "the last time Wizkid charged 1million for a show was about 3 years ago. Before his fracas with EME, he was charging nothing less than three million per show, and the fee for corporate shows was way higher.

In a week, Wiz was doing at least three shows, and raking in nothing less than 6million naira for EME on the average, totaling  up to about 24 million naira per month. During festive periods, particularly Christmas, the amount he raked in was about triple that amount or more, and he charges even more for international shows.

Then there were endorsements, the biggest of which was the PEPSI deal for which he was paid a staggering sum of $365,000. Of all these, Wizkid was only getting 25%. "

The final straw was Banky's album launch recently. Wizkid was not invited for the show but he went  all the same to show solidarity for his former label boss. Also, before the show, the contract review argument was still on ground and Wizkid was hoping the label would reconsider and take his offer. What he really wanted was 50%, out of which he would pay his manager, bodyguard, and mopol entourage, which he thought was reasonable.

However, during the show, Wiz was snubbed. The label refused to acknowledge his presence, and with this, the relationship with EME was severed. Wizkid is now operating under his own label STARBOY RECORDS.

So serious is the EME-Wizkid fallout that the label is now making people take sides. Sources say EME members no longer want to have anything to do with Wizkid and anyone that has any dealings with him.

Banky W may not have given his side of the story but insiders note that Banky has spent a lot to make Wizkid who he is now.

He feels Wizkid is not grateful and has forgotten where he was coming from. Sources say that Segun Demuren, Co-owner of EME has vowed to deal with Wiz-kid and make him regret ever leaving label.

With all said and done, here is wishing both parties all the best in their future endeavors.

France asks citizens to leave Cameroon because of Boko Haram


 France on Wednesday urged its citizens to leave northern Cameroon after seven members of a French family were seized in a kidnapping officials suspect was carried out by Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram.

The family — a couple, their children aged five, eight, 10 and 12 and an uncle — were snatched in northern Cameroon by six gunmen on three motorbikes on Tuesday and officials said they had been taken across the border into Nigeria.

The French foreign ministry in a notice urged citizens in the far north “to leave the area as quickly as possible” and advised against travel to areas bordering Nigeria until further notice.

The ministry could not say how many French citizens are believed to be in the north but 6,200 in total are registered as living in Cameroon.

French Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian pointed the finger at Boko Haram but said it was not clear whether the kidnapping was linked to France’s intervention against Islamist rebels in Mali.

“We believe that the Boko Haram sect carried out this kidnapping, but we don’t yet have a claim of responsibility,” Le Drian told France 2 television.

“These are groups that claim the same fundamentalism, who use the same methods, whether it’s in Mali, Somalia or Nigeria,” he said.
